How Often You Should Replace Your Sheets
Do you still sleep with your sheets from your childhood? Are you using your mother's old sheets?
If you’re getting the recommended seven to nine hours of sleep a night, you’re spending one-third of your day sleeping and laying in your sheets. Your bed is one of the most important pieces of furniture you own, and your bedsheets are the most important accessories.
Studies show that you should replace your sheets every 2-3 years if you are buying standard quality sheets. However, with more luxurious and higher quality sheets you don't have to replace them as often.
With standard quality sheets, the recommended lifespan for your bedding may shock you.
Sheets: 2 years
Sheets do the hardest work while you sleep, so they should be replaced regularly. You’ll know when it’s the right time to replace sheets if they are starting to thin, fray, yellow, or have visible staining. Once the fibers start to break down it's time for a refresh.
Pillowcases: 1-2 years
Regularly replacing your pillowcases can have a good effect on your sleep and your skin. Clean fabric in direct contact with your face not only helps to prevent allergies from flaring up but also minimizes oils and residue that can impact your skin.
Buying higher-quality bedding is well worth the price and lasts a longer lifespan. SensibleRest bedding is made from Eucalyptus fibers that are more durable and last longer than cotton fibers. Eucalyptus bedding also has antibacterial properties and is cleaner than cotton bedding which results in having to replace the bedding less.
